Ok, who says that the guy always has to plan the date? Why not wow your guy with these romantic escapes right here in the big city.
Shakespeare Garden in Central Park - West Side between 79th and 80th Streets

Take your Romeo to this sweet little sanctuary right in the middle of Central Park. Stroll on the cobble stone walkways, view the gardens, and sit and enjoy each other’s company on the tree-limb benches. You can even impress him by whispering sweet Shakespearean quotes in his ear (no memorization necessary since there are plaques nestled in the flowers throughout the garden, but he doesn’t need to know that!)

Gigino At Wagner Park - 20 Battery PlaceGrab a seat outside at this Italian cafe on a warm summer evening, and settle in for a stunning sunset. Set in on the southern tip of Manhattan, this little restaurant is a great place to sip on wine and savor some antipasti while overlooking the Hudson. The outside seats are on a quiet patio and are the perfect place to take in the view (and each other) on a warm summer evening. Follow it up with a romantic walk up the river on the Battery City promenade.

Chelsea Piers - 23rd St & the Hudson River

OK, this might not seem “romantic” to many of us ladies, but we must consider our significant other when planning our dates. If you and your guy are the active types, lace up your sneakers and head to Chelsea Piers. This mecca of sport in NYC offers up everything from rock climbing to gymnastics. The sky rink has ice skating all year round, and the golf range is worth taking out the three iron just to hit out over the river. Trust me, this date will equal romance in many a man’s mind.

The Place- 310 W 4th St
Tucked away on a beautiful tree lined street in the west village, this intimate little gem serves up good food, and a warm inviting atmosphere. Candlelight, stone walls, oak beamed ceilings, and charm abound in this restaurant. It’s the perfect place to cozy up and enjoy a good meal and each other’s company.
Also, I fell more in love with the place when I found out it donates 10% of it’s profits to charity!
