pmsflirkWe’ve probably all noticed that different women seem to have different PMS symptoms – ranging from debilitating pain and cramping to those who seem to have very little or no symptoms at all. From a hormonal perspective, all PMS symptoms are warning signs – signals from our body that something is not working as it should, or is out of balance. In other words, PMS is not a normal part of our cycles.

Yes ladies, contrary to what most of us have been taught: It is not only possible to have pain-free, bloat-free, drug-free menstruation, it is our natural tendency when our bodies are in a state of health
and balance.

If you’re noticing that your pants are a bit tighter during your cycle, or you find yourself needing a little extra sleep during that time of the month – you’re doing great. It’s completely normal to feel more inner-directed during this time, and is a wonderful opportunity to give yourself some extra pampering.

However, if you find yourself going up a clothing size or more during your period, or are feeing massively fatigued, or are experiencing mood swings that seem to turn you into a different person – these are signals that your body is not processing your hormones properly.

Symptom Support
One of the best ways to learn about some of these classic “symptoms”, why they happen, and what you can do about them is through our transformational Metamorphosis program (a new group is starting soon - scroll down or click here to learn more!). But for now, here are some simple things that you can try at home to help alleviate symptoms and support your body through your cycle.

Headaches: Increase water. Reduce sugar, caffeine.
Fatigue: Increase water, sea vegetables, healthy protein. Reduce sugar, caffeine.
Irritability: Increase leafy greens. Reduce animal protein.
Bloating: Increase water, fennel, leafy greens. Reduce salt, processed foods.
Breast tenderness: Increase water, fennel, leafy greens. Reduce dairy, caffeine.
Cramping: Increase water, leafy greens, whole grains, chocolate. Reduce protein, dairy, caffeine.

If you are noticing that these symptoms are controlling your month, call LSW. Laughing Sage Wellness is committed to helping woman. You don’t need to try to survive through your cycle – you can turn it into a beautiful and joyous part of your life.
