What do you want to do with your kids while they are still young?

Or, what are you glad you DID with them while they were little?

I thought about this yesterday as we were driving back to NY from Charleston. When I was a kid, my family took two trips across county by car (no DVD players, iPod’s, satellite radio, mini van. Just us in a sedan!). We stopped along the way to visit family, on one stop I even broke my wrist, for which my own mother earned her “GEM” status! Anyway, I look back on those trips with such fond memories.

So I have been kicking around the idea of driving across the country with my own kids (in a mini van, or RV WITH all the electrical gadgetry!). I’ve even gone so far as to lust after the gulf stream’s I see on the roads. I want to go to Four Corners, the Grand Canyon, Route 66, see the biggest ball of yarn, etc..) but am not sure I’ll have the chance before the kids think it is totally uncool.

So what about you.. what do you want to do with your kids in the window before they think they know it all??
