Calling all Fashionistas! This post is for you. Right now the Museum at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) is holding an exhibition dedicated to presenting the one thing that women love best: beautiful clothing!
American Beauty: Aesthetics and Innovation in Fashion is featuring seventy five looks on display from over thirty American designers. The designers featured come from a long list of beloved and well known heavy weights, as well as a few obscure names. All of the designers and pieces featured vary in style and genre, but they all have one thing in common: they are completely original and flawlessly designed! From delicate draping to unusual silhouettes, all the garments being exhibited have been beautifully crafted by American fashion wizards.
Since the exhibition is featuring fashion from today as well pieces that date back to almost a century ago, you’ll discover authentic and creative clothing that one could only dream of being in the presence of.
Plan a trip with your girlfriends, family or co-workers because everyone from the extreme fashion lover to busy moms on-the-go, will be able to appreciate intricately beaded gowns, ready to wear suits, and beautiful artistry presented.
Where: Museum at FIT
When: Through April 10, 2010.
Cost: FREE
A book of the same title will be published with information on the dresses and designers, as well as photographs and illustrations. All proceeds will go to the Fashion Institute of Technology.
