Here at HSNY, not only are we into keeping ourselves healthy and beautiful, but every day we try to do what we can to help keep our environment clean, green and everlasting! Today marks the 40th anniversary of Earth Day here in the United States. Back in the spring of 1970, the senate created Earth Day as a way to engage the whole country in national issues such as the need for clean air, water and land.

In celebration of the 40th anniversary of this special day and to help spread appreciation for our planet, LUMAS New York is holding its first Earth Day exhibition. Portraits of Nature will feature detailed photographic works of land in innovative and beautiful shots, extraordinary depictions featuring bodies of water, and up close looks at earth’s most remarkable creatures. Featuring both colored and black and white images, works from  Michael Levin, Bernhard Edmaier and Helmut Hirler and many others will be on display until June 6th, 2010.

LUMAS New York is located in Soho and is open Sunday to Saturday. The Earth Day Exhibition Portraits of Nature opens today, April 22nd at 6 PM.
