New York City is no stranger to design. Despite all the chaos on the crowded and busy streets, sometimes one can find themselves in absolute awe when they look up and discover a beautiful building, an interesting design or an unusual store layout. In this city, we are truly surrounded by works of art everywhere we turn.
One of the most up-and-coming neighborhoods especially in the world of design is the Meatpacking District. This weekend the Meatpacking New York Design District is holding its fifth annual exhibition showcasing inventive and creative design through store installations as well as street and window presentations. Along with the exhibitions, there will also be product launches and panel discussions, as well as a district-wide open house taking place on Sunday.
This year’s theme for the exhibition is the Five Senses. With participating exhibitors this year like world renowned designer Hugo Boss to Hudson Furniture and the Standard Hotel’s boutique shop, each diverse and innovative designer and venue is working to establish and embrace all the ways design impacts our daily lives.
So, if you’re looking to get a little lost in your surroundings or take a walk through one of the most bustling neighborhoods in the city, this is the weekend to venture out!
The event runs from May 13-17. For a full list of exhibitors and to see a map of all the participating venues and shops, visit: http://www.meatpackingdesign.com/concept
