If I sound like a biatch, it’s only because I had my whole entire body measured every single day for 7 years as a fit model in LA, so call me an expert at this! So really ladies, seriously, what the heck have we been doing to ourselves? At what point did you think that drive-through burgers, pizza parlors, and nights spent in front of the TV with a bag of dirty Chinese food or a pint of Ben and Jerry’s was going to make you look and feel fabulous?? You don’t have to be a nutritionist to know that what we put in our body is what we get out of it. It’s time to get real and take our health seriously. So let’s get with it!
Here are 4 easy ways to eat yourself HOT and RICH!
#1 Shopping seasonally is probably the #1 way to save dinero and look mighty hot. As seasonal produce is most often less expensive than the stuff flown in from abroad or trucked cross country. Anything that grows on a vine, tree bush or in the soil is A-ok in my book.
#2 Sale! Sale! Not just for shoes and handbags. Really watch for those sales ads on your favorite pricey protein foods—when the price is right, stock up and freeze for a later meal. I also opt for canned tuna, salmon and chicken when the price is right.
#3 Generic? I have a mantra, “If it’s not a fashion label, then roll with a fakie” Shopping generic for foods is a good practice too, as most often generics are exactly the same as the brand name ones! Don’t believe me? Just read the label and weep. If your are that concerned about Uncle Bens or Sara Lee making it into your cupboard, then you’ve got a serious problem homie. BLING BLING!!
#4 Making food from scratch, with the ingredients you already have in your pantry always beats processed and packaged junkola. Homemade barbecue sauce, salad dressings, marinades, and to-die-for (TDF) hummus, can all easily be made at home with shenanigans you already have in the pantry my dear! Here’s the best dressing in the world for you: 1 part extra virg olive oil, 2 parts lemon juice, and a dash of sea salt!
Cooking on the cheap has never been tastier, and soon you’ll not only look and feel hot, but you’ll want to invite your friends over to share in the fabulousness. Share the wealth ladies! If you want to get sexy, then learn to get tough as nails! Just say “NO!” to bullshit dieting and wasting your precious cash on processed food and bogus labels! Food labels are sooo 1980… so get over it!
