Tips For A Memorable & Delicious Labor Day

The end of summer may be here, but there is always a reason to get outside for a feast! Here are some tips and recipes for your official last weekend of summer celebrations.
Vegan Lentil Burgers: Sometimes when I have leftover lentils from Bryn’s meals, I like to mix up some burgers. By adding Indian spices, I am able to zip up the flavor, but as I always say, use what you have. Get inspired and make these delicious burgers this weekend!
Skinnygirl Tip: When dressing up your party, use decor you can use later. Fill bowls with lemons, limes and oranges, add in some green leaves and use them as centerpieces. Later you can use the fruit in lemonade, garnishes and recipes.
Grilled Kobe Beef Hot Dogs with Mango Chutney and Red Onion Relish: It’s not summer without the grilling, and these jazzed up chutney dogs will spice up any outdoor party. The flavor is so crisp and you can go bun-less if you like.
Skinnygirl Tip: Sometimes we forget to keep hydrated when we are having a blast at outdoor summer parties. Place water bottles and pitchers of water throughout the party setting in order to keep every guest quenched.
Asian Slaw: Some crisp veggies are always recommended for a BBQ, but this Asian slaw is a nice alternative to the traditional salad or raw vegetables.
Skinnygirl Tip: Use removable labels to personalize your guests’ glasses. This leads to fewer wasted cocktails and is “greener” because it saves cups and minimizes clean up.
Vanilla Yogurt Popsicles: Cool down in the summer heat with these refreshing and tasty frozen treats. This simple recipe calls for only three ingredients and even the kids can chip in with the preparation.
Skinnygirl Tip: I buy fun snacks such as frozen pretzels and pretzel bites because they taste good warm and stay soft when they cool down. Serve with assorted mustard.
Sweet Tea Vodka: I love adding a little bit of vodka to this favorite summertime drink to make the perfect party beverage. It goes especially well with some hot dogs and a lounge chair!
Have a great Labor Day weekend!
