Spring is upon us, and it’s the perfect time to take to the great outdoors and find something new and exciting to make you sweat. And here in big city, there is are a ton of facilities, clubs and activities for us to take advantage of. Now is the perfect time to add to or switch up some of your gym time and get out onto the field.
NYC Social Sports Club offers plenty of traditional sports such as kickball and flag football, as well as unique activities like “ultimate frisbee” and broomball. To mix things up, NYCSSC also offers Team Trivia, which consists of small groups casually competing in sports and team trivia with prizes offered to all who participate! Urban Soccer is also a great choice for women who love to set out to the field and clear their head while they run hard, play hard and kick a ball around! Urban Soccer looks to provide all active people of New York, from kids to men and women, with outstanding sportsmanship around downtown Manhattan, with some casual pickup games taking place in Chinatown on Sundays. For those looking to work those arms and legs out on the tennis court, TennisNYC may be the facility for you! They offer indoor and outdoor singles or doubles matches, as well as group learning or lessons for those who haven’t played before. The matches and lessons are offered in the spring time at many of New York City’s outdoor courts, such as Central Park Tennis Center. Last but not least, if you’re not looking to play on a team but still want to head outside, perhaps the NYC Adventure Bootcamp is your new workout! NYC Adventure Bootcamp for Women offers a four week outdoor fitness program for women of all ages and abilities. They meet in a few different parts of Central Park, and all you need to bring is an exercise mat, small weights,water and a smile!
