Profile: If one word could describe Elizabeth Feltman it would be movement. As a dancer for over 20 years, a marathon runner, and a fitness and holistic health expert, Elizabeth is always in motion. She is a passionate advocate for a healthy lifestyle and finds joy in inspiring action in others. With Peace.Love.Pilates, the new venture created by Elizabeth, her mission is to help her clients develop a deeper connection to their bodies through personalized training regimens and nutritional counseling. Her clients develop a sense of empowerment that transcends exercise and carries with them into their personal and work relationships. Elizabeth’s love for movement began with dance training at the age of five, a focus which continued through study at the University of California at Irvine where she received her BFA in Dance, and onto a professional dance career in New York City. For the last eleven years, alongside dancing, Elizabeth has trained using Pilates as a way to deepen her understanding of anatomy and kinesiology and to remain in shape for the rigorous demands that dance puts on her body. Elizabeth’s constant connection between movement and fitness finally led her to formally study Pilates with Terry Steele at DNA where she received her mat certification. Directly after completing this course she continued her studies with fitness guru Lawson Harris, from whom she received her apparatus certification. While training with Harris, Elizabeth gained experience at Half Moon Pilates and soon after her training was complete she began work at Erika Bloom Pilates Plus on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. There she has practiced and deepened her skills through thousands of hours of experience and has become one of the most sought after instructors at the studio. In addition to Elizabeth’s Pilates training she has also received her certification as a Health Counselor from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition through the Teachers College at Columbia University. She became licensed by the American Association of Drugless Practitioners to offer nutritional counseling to her clients – another aspect of Elizabeth’s dedication to a holistic and personalized approach to training. “Pilates is truly for everyone: female and male, young and old. I've worked effectively with dancers, athletes, pregnant woman, new moms, clients with osteoporosis, as well as people recovering from serious back injuries. Because I customize each client’s workouts to their unique needs. Feeling confident and strong is important to me and I seek to inspire work to help others find their own inner strength.”
